Indira Gandhi was one of the indigenous strongest political leaders. She’s born in 1917 to India’s Prime Minister at that time who was Jawaharlal Nehru and she’s known as changing in his history both for the good and the bad. Gandhi was 17 years old when her mother passed away 1934. She went to college in Oxford and during her years in Europe and UK she met Feroze Gandhi then married him in 1942 just before the beginning of the queen India movement Quit India Movement which was the last major national revolt started by Mahatma Gandhi and the congress party.

Indira and Feroze were both involved in this movement but they were arrested and detained for several months. They had two sons between the years of 1944 and 1946. Now, after India declared their independence, Indira’s father decided to step down from his governing obligations and Indira took over my managing her father’s official residence and they went on several foreign trips together. Indira Gandhi was a Prime Minister for 11 years up until 1977.

But when 1973 came around there were some problems. Delhi and all of her north India there were many demonstrations. Later on in 1977, she decides to call for a new election because she really thought she could win but she didn’t realized that many new coalitions by different political party had reformed so her congress party ended up loosing terribly at the poll. However, three years later she did became Prime Minister again which was the same year when her son Sanjay was killed on an airplane crash.
