The first step in getting the best individual health insurance quote is to have a basic understanding of each plan. So you can make an inform decision about which plan is right for you.

HMO (Health Maintenance Organization). This plan set you up with a network of healthcare providers which you must use when you are ill. The pros our, this is the cheapest plan with the list amount of paperwork. Co-payments are cheap, usually $5 to $15 per doctor visit. The cans are, you can only see doctors within your neighbor and you must first visit your designated primary physician who either treat you or refer you to a specialist.

POS (Point of Service Plan). Like HMO’s and PPO’s, this plan set you up with a healthcare network. The pros, you may see physician outside your network but it will cost more than seeing an in network physician. The cans our, if you do not receive permission to see a non-network physician, you may end up paying me entire bill.
