Male Speaker: Every year more than 9000 people are diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD. IBD includes two similar yet distinct conditions, Crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis and typical strikes in the prime of life between the ages of 15 and 35. Dr. Kevin Glasgow is the CEO of the Crohn's & Colitis foundation of Canada.

Male Speaker: More than 200,000 Canadian are affected by IBD. Symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, fatigue and diarrhea. There's no cure for IBD, but medication and surgery can help control it.

Mike Cappa: I'm really, really happy with the initiatives that the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada are taking over this declaration. I think it's very important to have people and general become aware of what this disease is about and how it affects people.

Alicia Stathopoulus: Growing up in Canada really young, it was really hard because people would look at me and you know they would see nothing wrong with me, but on the inside I was suffering and this pain and like I thought nobody can understand me.
