I am Steve Turano. Welcome to this episode of Body Performance. I have to stop watching Sunday morning television because I get sucked in to these infomercials on weight loss and it drives me crazy. I can’t believe the FCC allows these people to post this kind of information. I was watching this past Sunday. A lady was pushing some type of exercise program. Some miraculous program that she somehow developed that was going to give you 10 inches lost, 10 pounds lost in six day, not seven, because that is too long, six days. Now, listen, I know these are tempting. We are looking for the next breakthrough in exercise but it is not going to happen. You are not going to lose 10 inches in six days, you are not going to lose 10 pounds in six days. That would be 5800 calories less a day, that on top of which you are eating. So that is not going to happen. The only thing that it might happen in six days is you might improve your cardiovascular ability meaning if you walked a mile everyday, by the time you got to the sixth day, a mile would be a lot easier than the first day but you are not going to experience incredible results in six days. That is not how the body changes. It takes time. It is the accumulation of all your workouts. So try not to be suckered in by these ads. They are tempting but just don’t do it. It is still diet and exercise, patience, and faith. Love your body. I will see you next time.
