Now, we have the rhino security door plate on the phase of the jam, on the inside. As you can see, I have got it secured at the top. But, here at the point of where the strikers, and also the dead bolts project through. You can see that they have left adequate room for any variety of different locking mechanisms.
In this protector case, we are going to use a number 14, three quarter inch screw to retain the plate to the back of the jam. Then, when we get it installed into the opening. We are going to put three-inch screws through the striker plate, through the rhino security plate right into the main frame of the home. So, we will get the plate installed.
Now, we have the frame and door, and rhino security door plate all ready to go back into the opening of the frame of the home.
Now, I have the frame and door in the opening all plumbed and square ready to be screwed in place. I have two screws in the top holding it in place while I have the shims now all preset. Now, I will just put the balance of the screws in place.
Now, for the air ceiling around the door, and I am using a foam backing rod. This foam-backing rod works a lot better than using just pieces of glass fiber insulation. This way, it makes sure that it is nice and tight, stops any movement of warm moist air to the outside possibly condensing on the inside, maybe even getting into a dry rod situation later on. So, this will stop that air movement.
Now, before I put in the foam backing rod down the side of this point to the rhino security door plate as you can see, back in behind totally out of the way doing its job securing door and frame in the event of an intruder.
Well, there you have it all installed and I might say secure. All I have to do now is put the extra casing in the place and it is all ready for paint. Rhino security door plate, a real innovative way to secure your home.
