Vince Thompson: Hi welcome to dog and pony. I’m Vince Thompson. Video consumption is changing dramatically. Advertises are working hard to keep up with consumers is they grab to take to consuming more video online ads or becoming interactive and lot more this.
Scott Mahoney is the founder of Compulsion TV, a simple online tour making video advertising, it actually clickable. So we’re not talking here about this clicking video and making it play. We’re talking about clicking and interacting with elements within the video.
Scott Mahoney: Exactly. So what we do is we have a technology that allows the owner of the video to what we call “hyper spot” in other words identify things inside the video and allow the users or the public to actually click on the items in the video and clean out to a webpage or myspace page in advertisement, you need them.
Vince Thompson: So Scott you really point it to get three different constituents. You’ve got the viewers, you’ve got the publishers and your publishing ion the concept of the viewers and then you have advertises. Can you jus walk us through what the values for each of these parties?
Scott Mahoney: For viewers or the viewing public, Compulsion is advertising by choice and we give them the opportunity to decide whether they’re not or they want to be advertiser too. And they make that choice for actually clicking inside the videos spring.
For the video owner, what Compulsion does is open up in entire Universe of new advertising inventory where historically there was no advertising now they’re increasing revenues tactful.
For advertisers, Compulsion needs those to basically giving a fund to right person at the right time like never before.
Vince Thompson: How do you pay for this?
Scott Mahoney: We usually let people used Compulsion for market to maybe even three months for free and then we let them understand the value of that and then we sit down at table again and we say “what you guys think?”
Vince Thompson: So that’ only the stage of where you business is to that?
Scott Mahoney: Yeah.
Vince Thompson: You’re looking for the partners.
Scott Mahoney: We like distributors so websites that have an audience that also understand Compulsion once to get this thing in from of the audience. We ask those who do a really nice deals and partnerships with content providers like content operators like this maybe can hold term. And then of course, we’re always talking to advertisers and they tell us directly with before it ends, and respect right in the middle, organizing everybody in coordinating everybody for this to be you'll be off corrected.
Vince Thompson: That’s the video on a website. How it’s like a fun age of mutuals?
Scott Mahoney: Subscribe or become a member of Compulsion, we give you an account because account allows you to upload video to our system. We give you a workbook and in this workbook its shows you where all you’re hyper spot side which are blank I the beginning and then allows you to design what should happen with this going hyper spots.
Vince Thompson: And then once you have that, you upload that in the video players, your video players that we then put on our websites.
Scott Mahoney: So then we give access to our player. You can revisit your hyper spots workbook whenever you want and make changes, whenever you want in raw time. And no matter where video lines, and no matter how many times it’s been imbedded in different bogs and sites, those changes would be made in Real-time.
Vince Thompson: Where did you get the money?
Scott Mahoney: Untied States and we paid for that out of their won pockets, I would say this gill sets and free time that we all had was another way that we paid for this by consuming you know actually write in color and write in functional specks, and all that stuff.
Vince Thompson: Still you’re working without the page set for while. How do people afford them?
Scott Mahoney: Well, we make a little bit money here and there. We did distribution twice and we realized that was a mistake. We should reinvest into that company. So yeah, I think we finally realize part time we go gets some finding.
Vince Thompson: How many people involve the top when they do that?
Scott Mahoney: We should’ve five finders, we have boy over advisers, and 20 sell guys.
Vince Thompson: What’s bent him hardest part of running the business?
Scott Mahoney: Having five wives and then all the employees where kind like the children, and managing all those relationships on the daily bases. That’s the hardest thing.
Vince Thompson: So you’ve got your video a wrap and you got a relationship with the company, what are the posted parts?
Scott Mahoney: The true power of Compulsion is we show you where people actually clicking in the video and on a web.
Vince Thompson: Anything’s scare you?
Scott Mahoney: It’s really tough to know whether you’re not making the right decision. Going to know this I heard that you really have to trust your gut, a lot of people say and it so true. You know, you have the intuited a lot doing this part to decide which one is right, which one is wrong that’s take a lot of intuition.
