Hello everybody, Michael Goudelock here back here you from our blog posting on “Common Mistakes New Affiliate Marketers Make.” Chances are if you are new to this business, you are thinking about getting started on affiliate marketing. You could really start, there is a lot of opportunity, a lot of money to be made in affiliate marketing but there are some common mistakes you want to avoid lined of the back.
First mistake is you do not want to pick an affiliate program just because of it payoff because, let say you decide to promote a program that pays 75% that is usually the max commission offer their $70.00 products. Well, that is great and everything but if that product does not convert visitors into sales, then you are wasting a lot of time and your 75% is not really going to matter if you are getting those sales. It might be better to pick a product that might only pay 50% or 60% that has a really good affiliate program were it supports you through a good sales page, graphics, gives you advertisements, banners, things like that to help you promote the product. There are a lot of times the guys out there that are paying 75%. The products are not that great and they do not convert as well as the products that might pay 50% to 60%.
The second mistake, a lot of new affiliate marketers make is they start out trying to promote too many affiliate programs and products at one time. You want to pick one product, one program and stick with it. Really work it, tons of article, tons of videos, blog postings, paper clip, try it from all angles and really put your all into it for a couple months before you jump around. That is were a lot of affiliate marketers will go wrong is to jump around from one product to another, one product to another and they are not really doing anything. Pick one and stick to it, follow it through.
And the last mistake a lot of people make is they pick a product or service were they really have no idea what it does, they have no idea the product promoted, they have no idea how to answer questions and they just do not have any enthusiasm for it. If you do not have any enthusiasm for what you are doing, then it is going to be hard to stick with it for a month, two months, and year’s time it will really want to be creating articles and blogs and working on websites for a gardening product. If you hate gardening, it is just, you really have to pick something that you at least have a little bit of interest and where you can see yourself actually writing about and maybe creating some videos about audios for the next year and could you imagine if I was in here talking about videos on cooking? I do not know the first thing about cooking, so I stay away from the cooking niche. I am not going to sit here and talk on camera about cooking if I have no idea about cooking. I stick in internet marketing because it is what I love and it is what I do. Try to pick products and a program that suits you best and if you are into sports look for sports products, if you are into golf pick a golf product, you just really need to pick something that you are going to enjoy waking up and doing everyday. That serves a large mistake; a lot of people make this day, promote a product for the wrong reasons.
