So, I am playing the first notes of the scale and then I am coming to the second note of the phrase that I just played and then I am playing up four notes from there. And again, going back to the second note of the phrase that I just played and going up four notes; one, two, three, four.
The second note of the phrase that I just played starts on my third finger here. So four notes up from that. And that one right there is a little tricky; you are starting out on your third finger, adding a pinky in there and then ending on your first finger. For a lot of us, that's a very awkward phrase because you are so used to using your first finger to accomplish everything. Starting out on the third finger using your pinky and your first finger and then finally--
Now, the same logic works in reverse. We will start at the very last note of the scale and we will play down four notes and then come to the second note of the phrase that you just played, and come down four notes.
