Danny Grady: Now ultimately what you are going to want to do is remove the gaps that I just played. You want to get it nice and fluid, and the best way to do this is just to start out very, very slow. Don't try to play the scale at the normal speed that you would play through it, slow down considerably to give your brain a second to figure out what notes are coming next.
So, the idea is to get a fluid without any gaps so you always know which note to start the next fret on. That's really the goal to get the fluid without any gaps, you always know which note would come to you next, and in that way you really develop the familiarity of the scale that you need. So let's try a little lick using some sequencing. We will start out with some sequence phrase ascending, and then we will just end it with a nice little bend wrist. Again the 2nd note of the phrase that you just played, the 5th fret of the 4th string, walk up 4 notes, then do a full step bend return, and then end on the 5th fret of the 3rd string.
