Introduction to Ear Training – Nate Bosch
Hi, I’m Nate Bosch with Pianolessons.com in this section I want to talk a little bit about
the piano by ear. We’ll going to give you some tips, tricks and going over the basics of
how to train you ear basically shorten the distance from your mind and what you’re
hearing in your head to your fingers and applying it on the piano.
Now there are some people that may think that they’re tone deft or those kinds of things
that they can’t pick up melodies but if you can hear when a melody is going up or a
melody is going down, you’re note tone deft you just don’t have an understanding of
intervals or understanding that. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to let you be able to
point out certain ways that you could train your ears to hear the music that you’re
listening to on the radio or the songs you have in your head and play them in the piano.
And I’m going to go through things like intervals and understanding how chords move
together—really understanding scales and learning to listen, listen, listen. It’s really
training that ear and combine with that is going to be an understanding of keyboard but
that’s visual representation of what you’re hearing. So as you look at these next few
videos that’s what where we going to be going through.
