Welcome back to the introduction to Flickr series. Flickr offers different types of licensing that you can apply to your photos that you choose to share the Flickr community. There are different levels depending on how to much credit you want for the photos that you take.
Go to the creative commons area of Flickr. Here, you’ll see different photos added with different types of creative commons licensing. Let me briefly describe each one. An attributions license means that you will allow others to copy, distribute, display and even create works based on your image as long as you’re giving credit for the original work.
Noncommercial means that you’ll allow other people to copy distribute and display your work but only for noncommercial purposes.
No derivative means that people can copy, display and distribute your work but may not create any work based on your property.
Share alike means that you’ll allow others to create derivative works based on your property but only under a license that is the same as how you license your work.
You can add creative commons licensing to your work and even choose a default setting for all of your work or change the creative commons licensing on a batch here.
Remember, there are 10-episodes in this series so don’t forget to check out the other episodes in the introduction to Flickr series.
