A SLurl is a link to a place in Second Life. Similar to an url can link to a webpage. SLurl lets you travel or teleport to a 3-D location world in just a few seconds.
Now, with that added ability for new residence of Second Life to use direct SLurls.
For example, say you got a friend you are chatting with. They do not have a Second Life account, yet. But you want them to join you in world. It is easy.
While you are in Second Life, from the map window, click “Copies SLurl” to clipboard.
These gets your present location which you can paste into any standard program.
You can also make SLurls at SLurl.com. Then after you share the SLurl, your friend can join Second Life.
On the SLurl page, your friend simply needs to click this special sign-up button. After they finished signing up and login. They will end up at the SLurl you gave them.
This direct SLurls make it easy to start at specific points of interest. Whether it is your Second Life home or store or university. You do not have to worry about them getting lost.
We encourage you to try this out for yourself. Share SLurls with friends, family and colleagues, and invite them, so they could be with you in Second Life.
