Hey Guys, Welcome to the KCH Snare the Inward Snare, the snare that sounds like this hopefully by the end of this tutorial or through out practice. One of the reason why people like using the snare is because one, you got a jolt of air why you do it and two, if you do it in a proper way you get a very Christmas sounding snare. I in a tutorial on a indoor snare the hollow indoor snare tutorial that a kind of explain the, that it is in beats of the snare itself, but it seems that people are having trouble pronouncing the K sound. So, hopefully I can help you guys with that with in this tutorial.
So, allow me to explain this to you right now. What I do I think it is the back of my tongue is touching the root of my mouth, and then when I do the snare, it kind of suddenly just drops. So, what you guys can try to do is say the words cut but in word Cat but inwards, so something like “Cat,” “Cat,” “Cat”. If you can hear it, the beginning of the cat has a K sound. It is not exactly the snare because I have not added another feature that makes the snare crisp and this feature would be the tip of your tongue touching the roof of your mouth behind your teeth. So, if you give that K sound.
(Making the beat)
And then add the tip of your tongue to move your mouth behind your teeth and have the air float to sides of your mouth. You should get this sound.
(Making the beat)
Again, the sound you should hear, when the air is going from the side of your mouth, is this sound.
(Making the beat)
And then when you add the K sound, you should get that sudden jolt and it is like sounding like you are hitting the snare.
(Making the beat)
And there you have it. I hopefully this help and the keep practicing guys.
