Hi, welcome to OnlineLessonVideos.com, I'm Ian Walsh. And I'm going to teach you a tune today called Master Crowley's. It’s in the key of E minor and this is a pretty good session too. Here's the sample of it.
[Demonstration]
Let’s start off with playing some scales here, a lot of the notes in Master Crowley’s are going to be similar to which you might find in a standard G scale. So here's the G scale starting on the low G.
[Demonstration]
If we got two more notes just an A and the B.
[Demonstration]
And then back down.
[Demonstration]
The first note in this tune is a B. This is on the low G string.
[Demonstration]
Okay, and you're going to go straight to an E on the D string.
[Demonstration]
Okay. Here's the first sequence of notes.
[Demonstration]
Here it is again.
[Demonstration]
Now, we’re going to put a roll in and we’re going to put it on the—it’s going to be a first finger roll, it’s going to be on the D string and the note is on E. We’re going to put it in place of the three eighth notes E, D, E. So the roll—here’s one more time through without the roll.
[Demonstration]
And here's what we’re going to fit the roll in.
[Demonstration]
Here it is again.
[Demonstration]
Now, I'll stop to play a roll slowly so I'm going to speed it up gradually just the B and the roll of the note so—
[Demonstration]
Okay, we’re going to speed it up until we get into a tempo that is more better fit in for our roll.
[Demonstration]
You can see the rolling note of the third finger, starts to tend more, become more like a grace note than an actual note that you're playing here. So let me play it with the roll end and the first sequence of notes here.
[Demonstration]
One more time.
[Demonstration]
And let's continue on with some more notes.
