Host: They love activity, they could be reckless, they get tied easily, they use crayons, they paint, painting on the walls, right, but what I always see they want friends now. They are looking more up to friends, the mother is a friend, is that true?
Dr. Henry Hasson: Yeah, now they are starting first grade. They are in elementary school. They are really spending a lot of time with other children and they should be looking to being independent. They should learn and start doing things at their own. They should come home and try to do their homework on their own. Of course, they need a lot of assistance, but it's good for the parents to merely teach them to become more independent at this age.
Host: And the W words that make me go crazy. The end of each sentence what, when, where and why.
Dr. Henry Hasson: Right.
Host: Continuously and they can count probably to 100 if not more, is that true?
Dr. Henry Hasson: Yes, sure and they allow them to count by ten and count by five and these are good skills, start learning for the next phase and they are going to start doing more additional implications.
Host: So their universe is expanding well past the family now.
Dr. Henry Hasson: Yeah, they are really becoming members of society. A lot of times parents realize and they can go, he is just a little kid, he is only six or seven-years-old but they are really starting to develop much more.
