The book "Vitiligo: Your Doctor Will Never Cure You; You've GOT to Do it YOURSELF" gives the REAL medical info on vitiligo. 75 years ago --- before a profit-oriented medical establishment took hold --- MD's were curing vitiligo and doing NOTHING at all to the skin.

Alanna: Hi! I'm Alanna, I'm 23. I am from Newport Beach, California. I would like to know more about a cure for vitiligo. Marc Avram: Alanna, vitiligo is an extremely stressful skin disorder that affects people. It affects both men and women, and what vitiligo is, is where your own immune system attacks the pigment cells in our skin causing white patches to appear. It causes extreme stress in terms of our cosmetic appearance to the world. There are not any good treatments that consistently work. We certainly have treatments including tropical creams, ultraviolet light and other creams that do work in patients that are worth trying, but not consistently. The cure has been worked on very hard but we don't have one yet.
