Jennifer: And today’s question from Lyzette from Turkey.
Dear Dan and Jennifer I want to ask you question about virginity? Here in Turkey, having sex before marriage is not common. I have a foreign boyfriend and he wants to have sex with me and I want to have sex with him. I know in America you do not care so much about it.
Dan: You will be surprise.
Jennifer: I thought we were conservative, I guess not. I just want to learn new things, is it bad? Sorry about the mistakes in email I am not a native English speaker and regards a lot.
Dan: Wow, is it wrong to have sex before marriage? Some people think it is horrible, damn, right evil.
Jennifer: Even in America.
Dan: Yes, they do. And I would say that it is equally horrible to butt in to what other peoples’ business and to tell them what is right or wrong. You know, it is really depends on what is your called personal, cultural or religious beliefs are and how ethical does religious beliefs or whatever it happen to be? you know.
Jennifer: And just a real quick thing on that—your religious beliefs, not your parents, not your neighbors, not your city’s. What is your personal beliefs.
Dan: Yes and unfortunately, we are always having to climb out from the—anyway so when to have sex? It is a personal choice between two consenting adults. That is what we believe.
Jennifer: Yes. As long as you are of legal age then feel free to have it, you know. I mean when you are ready, you’re ready. And when you are ready, the one word of caution that we have is always be safe and be smart you know. You use protection and just be safe about it.
Dan: Yes.
