Big Think is a global forum connecting people and ideas. It may be a cliché to say that knowledge is power, but that doesn’t make the statement any less true. We know that there are just 24 hours in a day, that you are bombarded with information, and that the bombardment will only escalate. We believe that not all information is equal. We believe that expertise is invaluable and should be shared. If you had a heart problem and could afford the counsel of the world’s leading cardiologists, you would seek their advice. If you owned a business and wanted to expand into China or Russia, you’d want to hear from people who had already done that. At Big Think, we put you in contact with the ideas of very smart people. We do not believe that experts have all the answers. On many subjects deep thinkers disagree. We do believe that we will all make better decisions in our personal and professional lives if our thinking is informed by expert opinion.

We Muslims believe the Bible as it read when it came from the pen of the original writers. Ignorant translators, careless transcribers, or designing and corrupt priests have committed many errors. Of course these original documents no longer exist.

The main thing to take from this attempt at making this non-religious scholar look good is the fact that in Islam we believe in the revealed books AS THEY WERE REVEALED not in their present state. That reality doesn't taste as good when swallowed, because it calls into question just who and what changes exist that make these books no longer the revealed word for the tribe that received them...

God would only send scriptures down to people when He sees that the previous book of guidance (i.e. scripture) is diluted/changed, and incapable of leading people on the right path. Koran as I've studied it (and I advice you look this up yourself) has not been altered a bit unlike other scriptures, because millions of Moslem people memorize it by heart--cover-to-cove r (one of the kid I used to play basketball with whom I actually tested from some random part of Koran, he was reciting as I've studied it--memorized). So just because people are changing, doesn't mean God has to change with us, I think its the creation who needs to change, not the creator (Hence, creator doesn't need to send a book after Koran)
