Shalom! Bond to Israel with Bonds, this is a video about Israel Bonds and Israel I believe is the number two country in the world selling foreign Bonds after to United States. When I was growing up my grand parents called them Bobby and Zeidi Yiddish for our grand parents, grandfather and grandmother did not buy us presents they bought us Israel Bonds. Now you loan stated Israel money and after a certain term they give you the money back with interest.
So your investing in Israel and that is a part of the Israeli budget so they pay there teachers and build there roads and so you feel like you are part with the state of Israel and its building. And there is a little boy, Imagining impact of getting a piece of paper that had American dollar sign on it, certain amount and state of Israel. In the later on when I was in Rabbinical school I cashed in the bonds I have in and bought my books. So now when I look at my Jewish library I think about my grandparents, I think about the state if Israel and it really was a bonding activity with the state.
Subsequently I have continued to buy bonds, they have hundred dollar Bonds for a joyous occasion, they have investment tools like a zero Coupon bond which is your after ten years. You can even, if you have got a lot of assets you can basically borrow money form the bank and buy a $100,000 note and all you are paying is the difference of the spread and then you get credit for a very big investment in Israel. Israel is never defaulted of any loans there is I think 20 billion dollars out in Israel bonds that have been sold. And we started in a room and the Jerusalem Hotel of the king David Hotel with the early prime minister Israel David Ben-Gurion in the early 1950s and continue to be a supporters not just Jews that buy them. By the way, the state of Illinois and many states own them, insurance companies, banks are very safe investment tool, they provide a good rate of interest. And most of all you can be a partners, the bible said to the 28 tribes of Israel they want to stay outside the land. That response to that, it helps settle the land of Israel, so bond with Israel, a great investment, a great way to show your solidarity and support.
Few years ago, I was in Washington D.C. with a group of 50 Rabbi’s, one from every state for Israel bonds event and Vice President Gore was our speaker. Came into the room, talked about how important to sell Israel bonds were. He kind of joked looking around for his pledge card, Israel bonds. Think about it, you can call, just find with the Israel bond the office near you or go to Google the local number and the toll free number and invest in Israel through Israel Bonds.
