Male: Newly married couple Anurag and Sanjna had travelled to Italy. The trip is an opportunity for Sanjna to share a country she loves with her husband.
Anurag: She always talks about how beautiful it is and how much I would love it here. She just raves about Italy all the time. And so I've always wanted this to be one of our first trips.
Sanjna: I've been here several times and I really just wanted to share this beautiful country with him. And sort of celebrate our marriage and sort of like a second honeymoon.
Anurag: Now that we're actually here. I hope it doesn’t go by too fast.
Male: The couple begins their trip in Siena, an ancient city renowned for its rich culture. Here, they check in to the historic Park Hotel Siena.
Sanjna: Wow, this is amazing.
Anurag: It is one of this places that’s been around for centuries. So you walk in there and you can just feel all the energy from hundreds of years of existence.
Sanjna: Oh my gosh. This is breathtaking.
Male: On their first night, Anurag and Sanjna meet up with their fellow travelers from Italy by Vespa for a proper Italian welcome.
Anurag: They have an orientation the first night. So we meet Roxanne, which is our wonderful guide. And we meet Stan, which is also one of the organizers. It’s really great to be meeting these people, it’s almost like a camp, but a very sort of upscale camp. They don’t serve fried olives at any camp I went to.
Sanjna: Isn't it amazing?
Anurag: It’s awesome. Fantastic.
Male: With their palates primed, the group strolls to the moonlit streets of Siena to antiqua asteria de divo for an authentic Italian feast.
Anurag: When I was young, the first thing I ever learned about Italy is the food. I just love Italian food.
Female: I hope you’ll enjoy today’s dinner. We're having a surprise menu. I mean the surprise being that you don’t know what you're getting. I know what you're getting.
Male: They discovered that the Italian passion for food leads to some unusual combinations like fillet mignon in a leak crust on potato chips.
Sanjna: The dining experience is amazing. When you're eating for 3-4 hours and I wish I could eat like that every night.
Male2: Good morning all of you. Welcome to your first morning of riding a red Vespa.
Male: Sanjna and Anurag join the group for quick Vespa orientation.
Anurag: I've ridden bikes before when I was much younger, but it’s been so long that you really don’t know what to expect.
Male2: To start, you have to pull the brake and push the start button.
Anurag: Alright, that was easy.
Sanjna: You look like a natural.
Anurag: It’s because I'm not moving yet.
Sanjna: The Vespa is deceptively very, very heavy, Its 250 pounds. And just to balance it was a challenge.
My feet are barely touching the ground.
Anurag: After we start, I look over at Sanjna and notice she's struggling a little bit more. The bikes are pretty heavy and she's not so big. And next thing you know.
Sanjna: That’s what you do not want to do.
Anurag: Are you alright?
Sanjna: I'm okay. But I don’t think the Vespa is okay.
Anurag: That was funny.
Sanjna: I'm really upset, I really wanted to ride my own Vespa.
Anurag: You'd be riding it.
Male: With Sanjna riding with Anurag until she gets the hang of it. The group sets out to the narrow streets of Siena. Their inaugural ride is made all the more ceremonious thanks to an official escort arranged by the tour company.
Anurag: So the police escort takes us in through these cobblestone streets in this beautiful old historical area with everybody looking at us. They’re like, “Who are these ten Vespas? What's going on here?”
Sanjna: I don’t really see me riding a Harley-Davidson in the future. But I could definitely be a Vespa chick.
