Urban gardening is so much fun, and I am so excited to be able to show you my new urban sustainable living garden. I am Patti Moreno, the garden girl, and I have been working on this urban garden for the past few weeks, and now I am finally ready to start planting my raise beds.
Over here, I have a variety of different plants. I’ve got early tomatoes, some red sweet peppers, and a bunch of different herbs. Together, they are going to make an amazing Italian meal. Now, in this cluster, what I have done here is, I am stagger planting it. So I have done a row of three and then now, I am going to do a raw of just two plants. I think of really good compliment to this bed is going to be a few purple basil plants.
Now, this is called, dark-purple, ople basil and check it out. Its already got its red leaves. So, I am going to intersperse a couple of these basils. And here, all right now, what I am going to do is plant my sweet red peppers and I am so excited about this. I love red peppers, and I think I love red peppers more than green peppers. And pretty soon I am going to have tons of that. To top this bed off, I am going to put two chive plants as well, right here. I think that is going to do it with this raise bed. All right, I am going to place my other bed and I want a large amount of basil. I think basil in your garden is probably one of the tings that you cannot plant enough off.
First, what I am doing right here is I am placing the oregano. This is oregano vulgarre. I have got here a bunch of genovese basil. There are tons of different types of basils. So if basils are something that you are interested in. I say go at it, full force, and get yourself a bunch of different types of basils. This is Genovese basil, it is a sweet basil. It is a little kind of spicier than sweet basil though, but it does have sweetness. I am just shaking like this, I am getting the aroma. Okay, now that I have laid everything out, I can start planting.
