Denise Willard: Hi! My name is Denise Willard and I’m from Décor by Denise. I’m here
today to show you how to glow about decorating your tree for the
holidays. Right now we are going to talk about all the items you need to
get started. The first thing that is important ingredient is the tree, you need
the purchase one and bring them into your home and set it up. It can be an
artificial tree or a live three. The artificial trees are great because they
come prelate, they also come with continues light meaning that if the ball
burns out all the light stay led. They also come with the premade stand so
that’s the great benefit.
But if you like a live tree that’s great, a great option as well. We suggest
either fir a blues firs or a scotch pine because those are the best trees for
decorating they have the tidiest branches. So that’s the first thing to focus
on is what kind of tree you want and also what size you want. Typically
we recommend that will be about foot and half shorter than your ceiling
height. So, this tree we have here is a seven half foot three, there are
typically good standard trees from most homes but certainly you can go
larger if you have a larger home. These are thing you want to focus on if
you do go to live route is you definitely and nice strew stand that keeps the
tree stable because that’s the big safety issue, we want to make sure the
tree is not going to tip over.
And secondly you want to make sure has a nice water reservoir because
you want to make sure that, those trees save from hydrated as possible
because again it’s a safety and fire issue if it’s not well hydrated. One way
to prevent the tree from drying out too fast is when you bring at home; put
it outside overnight with sugar water. You put a lot of sugar in the water,
let it set outside it sucks up the sugar especially when they freshly cut the
bottom and that keeps the tree from drying out too fast and that’s really,
really key again not only because you want it to look pretty but also you
want it to be a safe as possible.
The other thing that you really need is some lights; here we have clear
white lights. I personally prefer them but a lot of people like the color the
multi colored lights and that’s fine too. Just need to make sure you buy
enough lights. We recommend that you buy 100 lights or some maybe 100
to 125 lights per foot of tree. This tree has about 800 lights on it so that’s
really key to remember as you go and purchase lights that you want to
make sure if you go to artificial wrap but it has enough lights a lot of them
don’t. Or if you go to a live route that you add enough lights to make it
work for you.
So that’s the basic ingredient here is the tree. Now, let’s talk about the
other items. The next major item that you need is the step ladders because
of us aren’t seven feet or eight feet tall right? So the step ladder is really
key ingredient we want to make sure it’s a stable one it’s not some rigidity
old kind of step ladder and then when you actually open it up its lays
flatten the floor so that you’re not going to tip over and fall. And then the
next key in the elements are all the items we are going to use to decorate
the tree. Basically you them I lay out here, we need ornaments, we need
hooks to hang of ornaments. So another we covered the main to
ingredients that you need. Let’s talk about the other things that are really
important all the decorations.
We definitely want to incorporate as many decorations as possible. What
we do today is we’re gong to incorporate some of the traditional elements
from the past like the glass ball ornaments that you will see. We are also
going to infuse some new decorating ideas that we talked about
previously. We are going to include some pinecones, some berries and
those are types of things in our tree so that you can get a feel for how we
can leverages the past but also use them as new trends that we talked about
previously. We are also going to incorporate a unique tree tapper where
we use a traditional tapper but were some feel icicle sprays to really give it
that new twist that we talk about previously.
We are also going to incorporate some items from my personal stuffs of
ornaments that are near to my heart that I love they are the whimsical
types of ornaments and we recommend that everyone includes some of
this in there tree because we want to and not only be beautiful at the end
we also wanted to be your tree be very personalize to you. So, now let’s
talk about what we need to cover the under part of the tree. The first thing
we need is the tree skirt, so you want to make sure you get one enough to
cover the span space under your tree. And then we also recommend some
foe or point size which we are going to leverages today as well as some
wrap gifts so it can really decorate the underneath portion of the tree and
make it look really pretty. So is just as pretty as what are on the tree, so
this is the items that you need to decorate your tree.
