The strongest diesel ever to power a Jaguar, now in the XF 3.0 D. 275 horsepower from 3 liters of displacement generated by the new V6 engine in the XF. The noise is pleasant; the torque even higher than with the old S type R and consumption is sensationally low.
The familiar and very elegant XF reaches a top level of performance with this new engine. Even if the traditional Jag customer should miss the classic lines at first, a completely new type of elegance seems to pervade the new XF. Also to continue in the fall, in the new XJ, contemporary lines coupled with classic and modern elements give the Jaguar everything that has distinguished the brand for years.
The interior is dignified, yet modern and sporty. Still Jaguar also stands for power. The new engine replaced the former 2.7 liter diesel in the Jaguar XF in April of 09. The power of the two new diesel engines in the Jaguar lineup is not only a result of the six cylinders. The enormous performance and efficient consumption are also, thanks to a sequential boosting and parallel activated bi-turbo, the first in its class.
This year marks the first a Jaguar, the new XF with the 3 liter diesel. Its smooth drive through the countryside is typical of the brand and makes driving a real treat. On the highway, it's also at home. It's top speed being limited to 250 kilometers per hour. Compared to the former engine, which Jaguar borrowed from Peugeot, the new unit uses 12% less fuel while performing 33% better with up to 600 Newton meters of torque. That's even more torque than produced by the previous range-topping model, the S type R would lets' say, only 553 Newton meters of torque. Despite more power and even faster dash from 0 to 100.
The new diesel engine in the XF is a lot of fun, almost a super athlete. Most customers will buy the Jaguar XF as a stylish car for daily use where a top performance even if possible is not a necessity.
Much more interesting is the car's fuel economy in accordance with factory figures and European standards, only 6.8 liters of diesel used to cover 100 kilometers. The new Jaguar XF top diesel model with a price tag of around 54,000 Euros.
