Hello! On this video, I will show you how to use a new streaming media recorder and convertible Jaksta to download videos on YouTube and convert them into format suitable for portable media players such as iPod’s, Zunes and PSP’s. Firstly, to get Jaksta, go to Jaksta.com. The trial download link is on the front page. The trial version allows unlimited downloads and conversions from YouTube, however with other slots, you are restricted to downloading 75% of the available stream. To download the full stream, you would need to purchase a license.
Once you have downloaded and installed and then start the Jaksta, you will see that it has a very simple interface and it is very easy to use. There are no URL’s to type in, and there is a simple drop down list from which to select the conversion you wish to automatically perform once the download is complete. As you can see, it supports iPod’s, Zunes, PSP’s, generic MP3 players, and Mobile phones. We will select Zunes in this case, when you are ready to start recording, as simple as clicking the green start recording button, in the trial version, you will get a restricted mode dialogue, which tells you about the restrictions placed on the trial. You can just dismiss that, you can say that Jaksta is now recording in the background. It is just a simple case instead of going over to YouTube and selecting the video that you wish to record and starting to play it.
You will see that Jaksta automatically detects that the stream is starting to play and starts recording it. There is no requirement that you actually continue to watch the video in the browser, so, you can actually navigate away from that and you will see that Jaksta continues to record. We can now go off and actually select other videos maybe from YouTube or other sites that we wish to record and that also gets picked up. You can also save that when the conversion is completed and we can simply select it and then click the play. And then you will get the dialogue again and you can say that the video is starting to play. So, there you go! I hope that you will have some fun with it. Thank you very much.
