Jerry West - Greatest Basketball Players

Born in West Virginia in 1938, Jerry West would dominate his opponents as he would throughout his career. West would become a West Virginia University Mountaineer and as a sophomore, west would start all 28 games and average a double double. As impressive as his sophomore campaign was, as a junior, he would improve to 26.6 points per game and 51.8% shooting percentage from the field. In his final collegiate season, west averaged 29.3 points and 16.5 rebounds per game. While he only managed a trip to the NCAA tournament finals West’s individual efforts throughout college would lead him to becoming the second overall pick in the 1960 NBA entry draft.
