Shalom! I have been asked to do, by ‘YouTube’ videos of yours, to do a response to some of the materials about Jews for Jesus and messing on the Jews on “YouTube.”
So I want to explain why Jews do not accept Jesus and any Jew who says they do is not Jewish anymore and this is not in anyway to denigrate Christianity. Christians according to Judaism are certainly well to live as Christians as long as they found the Seven Laws of the Sons of Noah. This is not anadem of Christianity, this is purely meant for people who want to commit religious treason, in our view, and defect to another religion, abandoning God and the Torah—that is our view and I want to explain why.
Now, for background of this I have several other several videos that I think will be worthwhile. First is, you can find them all if go jewu27 is what Jews believe, the basic principle according to my monotheist, jewu30 is the Jewish view of messinism and the messiah, jewu35 is Jews and Jesus, jewu57 is the how the question of resurrection, jewu155 is what non Jews can do to achieve salvation, the laws of Noah, jewu129 is on the reincarnation and 182 is that some of similarity and differences between Judaism and Christianity.
So lets just go to the very basics, Christians believed that Jesus is the Messiah. There is no evidence for that, the world is still stinks, there is nowhere that it says the messiah is going to come twice. How can anybody possibly believed the Messiah has already been here? Now, they believe he is coming back where does it say that? Anything about coming back.
We had plenty of false messiahs including what we believe is Jesus who claimed to be the Messiah and then disappointed us, if someday in the future He comes, okay. But we have Lubavitcher Rabbi who he thinks that he is the Messiah, my relatives the Bratslav Hasidim think their Rabbis is the Messiah. The followers of Jacob Frank and Shabbtai Zvi, their guy was the Messiah. A lot of false Messiah so, that is why we are very skeptical and we certainly not believe Jesus is the Messiah.
Christians also believe in the trinity—that there is three parts to God. Well, we just do not believe that—God is one, it says so clearly in Deuteronomy, here in Israel the Lord of God, the Lord is one, many other sources for that. Any notion that there is God in Human Being is just absurd from the Jewish point of view. Three, the essence of Christianity is they believe that God took to human form. And says clearly in Numbers 23 that, “Any man claims to be God, clearly that he is not.” From the Jewish point of view which is pure monotheism, to believe that God took human form is simply absurd.
Now, then Christianity believes he is going come to God through Jesus, that violates for us the basic principles that you shall have no other Gods before me. There is only one God and you go directly to that God, you do not have anybody, you do not call through anybody to get to God. And then of course they believe that Mary was a Virgin and it gave birth—Jesus in a virgin. Well, if Joseph was not the biological father that presents several issues. First of all, it is an old Pagan myth way before Christianity about virgin birth. And so, I think people should understand that, and secondly it completely contradicts the whole notion of Jesus could be the Messiah. The messiah has to come from the House of David, if you open up the New Testament and read it which one comes from David, it is Joseph. So you can not logically maintain both, you are messing up lineage from King David and the virgin birth, it completely contradicts each other.
And then, that Jews for Jesus liked the point to the verses in Matthew, the Gospel to pretend that they proved Jesus. Well first of all, just think about it logically, if God really wanted us to know of Jesus was God and the Messiah, do not you think it would have been very clear? There are thousand and thousands of thousands of words, He could have just said any one sentence—“There was a guy, Jesus are going to come. He will be the Messiah or God!” It does not say any word. It got twist and turn, everything up on its head to make you think maybe, this were as might. Again, it is based on mistranslations. Their bibles is translating from the Greek which translated from the Hebrew.
When the Greek translated it from the Hebrew, they mistranslate a lot of key things for example, that passage that Matthew quotes about the Virgin. “The Hebrew does not say a virgin. The Hebrews says Almah which is not a virgin and Almah is the young woman who could have kids and not just be married. The word for virgin is Bethulah and it does not say that there? So the whole thing about virgin verse is based on the mistranslation of a verse from Isaiah and that is just one of the many, many mistranslations of the text.
Now besides that, Deuteronomy 13 clearly warns against exactly this is happening. That somebody comes and says, “Oh, is this guy who just violate the Torah is going to do all kinds of dreams and tricks which is exactly what the New Testament’s as Jesus did, we are warned about it in Deuteronomy 13, it exactly what is happened.
Now Numbers 12 read that. Read Numbers 12, “God says to Miriam and Aaron, Moses alone, I speak to mouth to mouth, word for word, everyone else in dreams and visions, everybody else.” So Moses is the only guy ever God spoke to word for word and the Torah says, “Do not violate, do not leave us.” Now Jesus live a Kosher life, he live our prayers, okay, but to say that a man will be God, or think about this, Christians believed that God sent His Son to be sacrificed. Well, read Genesis 22, “God says do not do it and the Bible warns again, time after time, after time. So why that the bible warns so much against sacrificing your son, does not make any sense to us, just as not meaningful in anyway.
So those are some of the issues there. I wanted to mentioned, I think there is a lot more that we have to talk about and I will do that in the subsequent video. This I think is enough for one video to digest and in my next one I will address a typical or possible conversation you might have with a Jew for Jesus proselytizer and how you can respond.
