Shalom! This is Rabbi John and gives in regards with the Israel with Jewish corrugation. This video is tried to address the issue of Jews and Evangelicals. For many Jews even Evangelicals are scary because they believe they are just trying to convert us and take over the world. I have a different view and I hope a balance view the one that I hope will help explain Jews to evangelicals, evangelicals to Jews. First of all I was part of a dialogue group and community where I was the rabbinic representative of some pug the Jewish community relations council, which was the group core, which cost sponsored this dialogue group with evangelical ministers with the organization called British for peace. We met for a couple of years with ministers and myself and a few Jewish L.A people to trying build bridges and one of the things we decided to beginning was, we were going to trying to convert each other.
I said that Judaism deeply believes that in the end of time all people who recognize the truth of Judaism as Zachariah says with all of the other at the temple of Jerusalem and worship agony and my munity says suggest that too and they I know believe in the end of time everyone see the correctness of the Christian way. Well, we just agree to disagree and live whatever we can and this world we simply said this, “Jews considered offensive where Christians are trying to convert Jews to Christianity”. We know some Christians believe as there mission but it is offensive to us. We do not think Christianity is the right way for us, it is fine for them but please leave us alone, we think it is against Gods will. We are trying to do as a way, we think the bible is very clear and that about telling us the false dreamers and prophets that will come to us and tell to us trying to tear us away. And the stories of people actually seduce us away to foreign religion.
We are very happy with being Jewish, we believe it is the correct religion for us and for others who want it, and we will thinking the end of time all the people will come to see that the worship is about our law and the Jerusalem is the correct thing to do. In the mean time let us just talk what we can do about this world to make it productive that is the way Jews sees it. Now not all evangelicals this is for the Jews who want to convert us and in fact there are many evangelicals who support us and believe that God bless us. Just heard about this minister John Higgy who spoke at the American-Israel public affairs conference this passed year in 2007. Who said that “his deep faith and commitment for Jews and for the state of Israel founded on the premise God made the Abraham and Genesis that God will bless those who blesses Israel and curse those who curse Israel and that goes to also tell us that we should be in lines with those evangelicals who support Israel.
Most the threats Israel in America beside from the massive community they are coming from the modern and liberal Christians. It is the liberal press materials that they want it to divest and other Christian groups. There are from the evangelical Lutherans in Minnesota where resend a letter to all the Lutheran ministers telling them about all the awful tragedies of Israel. The problems of Israel and America are coming from the modern and liberal Christians not all of course but some it is the evangelical community that support Israel. Now you may say you do not agree with the motives and again you can group all 60, 70, 80 a hundred million evangelicals in the one group for sure they are some but they are over the top and doing things that we can considered sinful like to trying to convert us but the biggest support for Israel does not come from the 5 million Jews it comes from the 50 million evangelicals who support Israel now organizing to help.
We need to make friends for those for whom we need to make friends the state of Israel the government clearly understand this that close relationship with those people and so the Jew, who is the Jews to make realize with the people an issues with whom we can agree and disagree and those areas where we disagree. Now, again to the evangelicals if this story is true that there are some evangelicals in the country who are trying create a Christian theocracy here like the Muslims and done just like over the Islam world and see how horrible it is. That has to be flat very hard by not Jews but by the evangelical themselves and America to say that this country is found at the religious freedom, unreligious tolerance and we cannot break that divides between the church and state. We cannot have a country that is evangelical in it is fundamental laws that discriminated against others.
That will destroy this greatest country on earth. Hope this clarifies that some thinking which try to explain Jews to evangelical, evangelicals to Jews and build bridges what I need to be built. Shalom!
