Next top on the list, were talking about some of the greatest nicknames ever, Joltin Joe of course, you served by Joe Carter in the early 90s but that’s okay. The Yankee Clippers of course, we are talking about Joe DiMaggio.
Now, Joe DiMaggio was born in November 25th 1914 unfortunately passed away on March 8, 1999 but we’re not talking about his birth, we’re not talking about his death, we’re talking about the years in between of course.
Joltin Joe DiMaggio, are ever one of the greatest Yankees ever arguably one of the greatest baseball players ever. His 56 game hit history which lasted for well a long time, May 15th to the July 16th of I think it was 1941, 41? Remember that 41? 56 and 41 that’s how I remember it’s the nemonic device.
Probably one of the greatest sports records ever. Joltin Joe DiMaggio also first player to ever win four consecutive titles in his first four full seasons of baseball, battled a head of—and he was pretty much one of those players that could do everything, they call them a combination of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb and Shoeless Joe Jackson because he could hit, he could feel, he could hit for power, he could hit forever, he’d still basically did whatever it took to win. He played the game the way it was meant to be played and as if that wasn’t good enough, he married Marilyn Monroe, this is why he qualifies as one of our—athletes with mojo.
