John Renbourn Teaches Sandwood Down to Kyle Part 2/2
Well that’s the example of a song that seems to work well with coming to play in David Grand’s tuning that got and as far as I know Dave Cole the man that wrote the song place the song and record the tuning and didn’t use that tuning for this in particular compliment.
The song is in fact if you break it down and basically D- scale the notes of the song which would be D- E- F natural G- A- B flat C- D and for the introduction although I didn’t think of it as a rock and so much I like to play around for a little while just outlining the notes of the tuning of there and I like then to play a little bit between the flat 6 and the 5th there.
Well that’s just endless possibilities in this tuning provided you keep the two strings open on the top and a bit of action on the bass you can. It seems to play on the middle strings you can even fencer up on those strings there or bring in the light low base bends and the song itself I use for another string bends just as a link phrase here. so the top string bends down and those goes to the running round there a basically a B minor with the C and the root of B flat chord back to C. which is the same notes as I was using for the interaction and the main notes and during the melody.
As I said there is plenty room to experiment and play around using breaks in the song and tactful changes as well even the top string which is ringing away that come here gradually to kind of just bring out some sort of tan color. Just rings prettily. Well, it’s been a pleasure playing for your and less from this tune together in the main sections of this big screen.
So we come from the opening phrase now the tag, the link is flowed over a few times just bend the string down first is up and down let it go here. So the song is — So that’s the whole pattern. You can play this little link and the base notes and still of the tremble just on the bottom phrase so listen and in the base so it runs up.
Well let’s just experiment on the 3rd string. Using those of a scale they’re go and end and they’ll go up see what happens if we go up and down in gaps and the little blues. Let’s go up on the pattern using the top screen and drop on the base and go out.
