I think the best way to cook my family a great meal at night or throw a great Christmas party or decorate a beautiful tree or make sure my daughter’s room is inspiring to her is to take short cuts and to cheat if you have too. And I hope that somehow the women that I get the privilege of talking to through my book and through my televisions show. Get not only inspired to make their house a home but also get inspired that they can do anything they want and that anything is possible.

I am a new mom and a new wife, I have a busy job and I am grateful for all three but how can you possibly do it all. I fully believe in Bob Cake’s Mixes as you know, my daughter just turn three and I look out Bill box and then I just decorate. You just have to add a little bit some where along the way that personal like I took the middle weight person painted them in bright colors and put them all, decorated them. It is simple but people see it and look a little bit different than a box cake.
You can just pick flowers from your garden and put it all over the little box cup cakes you make. I mean there are ways to kind a cheat but still make it very, very personal. You are not selling out your mother’s hard work when she made suite stock from scratch and spent hours there by the block stock and then make your own homemade suite from that.
You always want to make sure that you have a few recipes that are really quick and easy to pull off. Like I make the veggie chili that I can whip up at no time at all and you can kind a put any veggies in it that you have in the fridges, that is going to left over veggie and you start with the can tomato, sauce and then you kind of add in something like that. You want to have your staples, also know where the great cheese shop is a block in a half away where I can go and get a whole buffet of cheese and put them on little mini cutting boards and add some big thick bread and began that I am very Parisian.
I think it is great to always have a signature drink. In our house, my mother always had giggle juice. Giggle juice was like a method as punch, is it that a great name, just make you smile, does not it. It made everybody smile who would come to our house, it is just combination of 7up, grape juice and lemonade. That she—is great purple color and she sliced up the lemon and popped it in there and that was kind of cursing that you drink. That kind of you always notice that by Katie’s house you going to need a big bowl of chiller.
The kitchen, sink version of Sangria but that is fun and that is not too difficult. People are so trill to be invited into your house and if you give them just a little something whether it be a glass or hot tea that is just lovely and it is kind of an art that I do not think people do enough off.
