Well, you have had the editorial being through your introductory chat where we were talking to your vet and the things she is going to go through include vaccination and it's vital that you do get your dog vaccinated because there is lot of talk in the press about whether vaccination are worth? Whether they have side effects? The fact is that vaccination save lives every single day because before we had vaccination dogs were dying regularly of parvo virus, distemper and Leptospirosis which are the big ones that be vaccinated against. So keep your vaccinations up to date. Start off with vaccinations when your puppy is young, 8 and 10 weeks or 8 and 12 weeks and then carry on with yearly boosters thereafter.
Your vet will also talk to you about the dreaded worms. Now in this pot we have a few round worms which are particularly goozy things but a puppy is likely to have many of those in their intestines, they get them from their mother through the placenta and through the milk, so you need to worm your puppy on a regular basis every couple of weeks and then when your dog is an adult every three months or so to make sure they stay completely worm free. Now it's also worth thinking about the other creepy crawly the flee and your vet will give you advice on the best flee control for your puppy or your dog and while you are there one last thing, its worth thinking about getting your dog a permanently identified with a microchip. Now inside this needle here is a tiny little chip about a size of a grain of rice and your vet will implant it under the scruff of your puppy or your adult dog's neck and it will stay there and then it can be read with a little reader like this and that can then just find the unique number that the chip has got and if your dog ever disappear then that will get reunited through that and if you want to go to the complete protection there is an organization called the Missing Pets Bureau and you could register your pet with them, register your dog and then if they go missing, the Missing Pets Bureau will help you get your pet back, but hopefully that situation won't arise.
So anyways that's the things to look for in an introductory check and a tour around the practice and hopefully you wont spend too much time in the practice perhaps once you get your dog's boosters. So we will move on from here now and hopefully in your case go direct.
