The scientific name for kissing is philematology. And this is how it is spelled, philematology.
How many people have you kissed? In 1990, at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, Alfred Wolfram kissed 8,001 people in just 8 hours. That’s over 16 people a minute. Man, I hope you didn’t get any diseases.
The average person spends two weeks of their life kissing. That’s three hundred and thirty-six hours.
You probably think that kissing is a very universal practice. However, in some cultures, for example the Chinese culture, they didn’t kiss until they were influenced by the westerners. And they're still not very keen on it today.
If regular kissing isn’t good enough for you, try kissing underwater. The longest recorded kiss under water was two minutes and 18 seconds in Tokyo, Japan, the year 1980. try holding your breathe that long.
The term French kiss came to America in 1923 as a slur for the French culture. The French culture was thought to be shockingly oversexed. Your lips are very sensitive, so sensitive that they are two hundred times more sensitive than your fingertips.
Think about it. When you kiss, do you turn your heads to the left or the right? Well, in the research study conducted in Germany, they found that two-thirds of people turn their people turn their head to the right when kissing.
