Hello and welcome to the CellPhones84.com review of the LG Dare. This is a very sleek and a very slim line phone if you can tell. It has got your MP, talky and your clear key here. On the side, it got the USB power there. The speaker phone button there, Micro SD slot there and a lock button so you can lock it before you put in your pocket. 3.5 millimeter headset jack and then your volume and your camera key on the side there as well. But, the great thing about this obviously is it is touch screen. You have got a shortcut button there. It brings up all of your menu keys. If you want to move anything around, it is very easy. If you want to put the browser in the front row, just do that and those two items will switch. If you want to put something in the homepage, just pull it up and boom. Now, I have got that on my homepage. I want to take that and out it back into the shortcut button and that is all I do.
If I wanted to run something like there is a navigator, just hit that. That was just one of the many very cool things you could do with the phone. Moving on, let us go back to the menu here that is your main menu. You got everything that you need. Your settings, browser, view cast, navigator, my music, contacts, messaging, calls, media center, you can just touch anything and it takes you back to the main menu. If you want to use this one as your shortcuts as your favorites, those can be phone numbers or people or whatever you want.
One of the best things about the LG Dare is the camera, 3.2 mega pixel camera with built in flash. If we hit the dedicated camera button here, we go right to our camera if we hold it horizontally. And then it says touch the screen for setting menus. We got all these great settings that we can play with just like any professional camera. We got focus, timer, and brightness mirror over here and here are more settings over here. Click on those resolution, white balance, shutter sound, color effects, ISO, smart pic which is a new technology, face detection, save option whether you want to enter, multi shot, it just goes on and on. There are different types of things we can do with this camera. It is really amazing. The video editing and the camera editing are spectacular.
Of course there are amazing things that you can do with this phone. Also, it handles that very easy stuff nicely as well. Let us just set the main menu, go to messaging. If you want to do a new message, we can decide if we want to do a text, picture, or voice message. We are going to do our text message here. If you want to send it, send it to your contact or send it to CellPhones84.com. There is a regular cell phone text messaging pad if you want to do it that way but let us do it another way. Let us hit the draw button there and now, we can actually draw it out. If we want to say, “Hello” we will just do like that and there we go. There is our message. If you want to do it with the keyboard, what we will do is rotate the phone and now, we can add to our message and say whatever we want. Now, we are going to send and we are now sending the message. So you got three ways to send text messages folks.
We got lots of option in the messaging menu. If we go down here, we can flip it up and see what else is on the screen there. One of the nice things is we got blogs, we can actually monitor all of our blogs and input photos and add new entries in that way. We also got mobile email. It is just that simple. Another cool feature that the Dare has is a proximity meter. So what that means is if you are making a phone call – let us just dial 611 here and hit call. Now, as soon as I put this up to your face, I will just put my hand up here, it automatically goes dark. So that means that you are not going to hit any button and also, it is going you save the battery by turning off the string. It is such a great picture.
