Welcome to the Phone Arena Video Review of the LX370. The 370 is a simple slide phone by LG available on Sprint. The design is very straightforward. On the front, you’ll find a two-inch display. It’s a little bit small for our taste and as you can see there’s a lot of housing around it. We would have prepared the bigger display but the QVGA resolution is nice. You have Send and End key, the Start keys, the Back key and the there’s additional five-way D-Pad drawn out the front. On the left side is the volume rocker and micro USB charging and data port. And on the right, you’ll find a two and a half millimeter headset jack, MicroSD card slot.
The device come shipped with a 1GB card as well as the speaker phone/voice command key and finally the camera key. The back is very straightforward with a simple two megapixel camera and the speaker. The door does take a little bit of—to slide off if you don’t do it properly. The proper way is to just press on the top and then it becomes very simple. Underneath that, you’ll simply find the battery. Sliding the phone app reveals a decent size traditional keyboard. The keys all have nice play. They’re very easy to press and there’s no doubt about it.
One thing that we really appreciate on the design is the curved nature of the top of the slide. This means there’s no overhang for these keys at the top row. And indeed, the keyboard is very easy to use and nice to type on. The overall build quality of the 370 is very good. We appreciate the feel on our hand and our basic complaint is the fact that the display is a bit too small. Performancewise, it was a solid performer, but nothing too special. As you can see it runs Sprint One Click UI. We’ve seen this on very many phones in the past and unfortunately it does not have some of the new tiles like the twitter tile found on the Exclaim. However, it’s still extremely functional and as far as carrier UI’s go, we appreciate it.
The two-megapixel camera was a bit disappointing though we’ve come to expect that from Sprint LG phones. The color saturation was poor. The images were a bit dark. And there is greening and just overall, lack of detail on the pictures. Still, for basic phone, we think the 370 is a good choice. However, Sprit is currently charging a $100.00 on contract which we think is very overpriced. If it would slot in a $30.00 to $50.00 range, we think it would be a much more compelling offering.
