Larkspur - Giant Imperial

When it comes to flower borders I take a cue from some of the English gardens I studied in—plant tall items toward the back and shorter items to the front. Following this rule loosely lead me to a larkspur mix called ‘Giant Imperial’. I’ve been testing it out for a few years now and think I’ve finally stumbled upon the perfect combination of tall, sparse looking stocks. I got here by planting Giant Imperial larkspur mix seeds in November and then AGAIN in January—the result was lovely blooms in May. If you plan to try this variety of larkspur I suggest following the package directions just to make sure you get the seeding times down right for your zone. It’s so worth it to get these late spring blooms before most other annuals take off in the garden.
