Gram told me the story that Jony saw based in the window and she really liked it. So they bought it and they got back to Jony’s cottage and they came in it was this cool gray morning and Gram said to me that he said to her, you know what, it is kind a chilly, I light a fire and you put some flowers in the base we bought. We ran to the piano, we ran for an hour and he had our house done, words and music in an hour. Red ran little canyon.

Michael Walker: Hi I am Michael Walker, I am the author or Loral Canyon. The inside story of rock and roll legendary name hood.
Male: Mike would cover a lot of canyon century from 1965 to 1981. Loral Canyon boulevard connects two sides of Los Angeles. The list of people that lived here was astonishing, it was Gram Nash and Jodi Mitchel lived together on a cabin or look up mountain.
2401 World Canyon Boulevard this is the side of Frank Zappen was called the log cabin. It was all log cabin, it was built in the early 1900’s. Frank Zappen and his wife Gail and their brand new baby Moonunit were been here 1968.
You are in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world but there is this kind of weird pastoral Netherland.
Here we have a lemon tree. One of the reasons they came here, why some many musicians moved here because it was cheap to live here. This is where the GTO’s were born, the girls together outrageously right inside the log cabin.
People literally lived in Loral Canyon or they lived with people that lived in Loral Canyon. During the day time and then at night everyone would gather down on the strip.
On and on lets go up and up. Every musician in town, Jimmy Hendricks, Jeff Back, Rod Stewart, every musician was any body who came into town ended up coming to visit Frank Zappen in the incredible little musical scene here.
And again you can imagine what this must have been like on a good night in 1968. Log Cabin was pretty much over there, in burned on Halloween night in 1981.
You know, culture changing events and big personalities happen in Loral Canyon. Burniquettes, Elliots house would go Wilson drive on the top of the canyon was sort of like the salon of all the guys in the canyon that would come up there and hang out.
Nash they have Backs songs for the first time in her living room. Well this is the Loral Canyon country store and this is sort of like the, one guy describes the lobby of the Loral Canyon hotel.
McJagger was in one time was missing having his English Delicacies and his Cadburry bars and David Boei came in later and had made the same complaint. So the owners made this little isle which is all stuff from the British Empire from Australia to the home sick rock and rollers.
David Great the wine selection at the canyon store and Tommy the owner of his commission has his own line of wine. So there would be canyon country store, Tabernacle and believed there is a Champagne coming up with this so you could literally get a taste of Loral Canyon.
Patches over for dinner, it is a fun thing for people if you know, LA is such a hard place to navigate. A lot of people end up staying in the Sunset Strip. This is a great diversion to come up here and you can have dinner. Hotties is Italian for peace.
The 1960’s the drugs that the musicians used where sharable. It was asked that the Coyote and Marijuana and cocaine came in people turned into Coke by themselves to do it.
There are some people started putting up walls around themselves and the cohesiveness of the canyon began to come part.
Sunday afternoon, and September is the prime of fire seasons, so in a really hot twitchy day, September of 1979, this hillside caught fire all along the top of Loral Canyon on Grand view Drive and Coke rest and it destroyed 20 or 30 houses.
The wonder land murders which also happened in Loral Canyon. So you have this arc from this hope and peace and love under pining of the early kind of the mid 60’s to the early 80’s when it turned and kind of evolved into cocaine and very dangerous people.
