Hi!, welcome to WatchMojo.com. This is Perna and I am going to talking to you today about The Wreckers. The members included Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp. When they were growing up in their teams, they were independent artists, they didn't know each other and they were each struggling to get deal because they didn't have enough money, I mean at that age unless your parents are rich, it's hard to afford.
Each of their fans will be e-mailing them saying that they sounded like the other girl, so the girls decided to e-mail each other. They talked over TCBY Yogurt and realized they had so much in common and that they felt like they had known each other for whole life, as if they are grown up next door to each other.
Michelle spontaneously invited Jessica to come on the road with her, Jessica packed her bags and went on to become her backup singer. Jessica Harp was offered a record deal in LA but she turned it down and then she got another deal in music city which is located in Tennessee. This company was willing to give her the creative freedom she wanted. So she is driving up there, she gets a call from her best friend Michelle Branch and Branch says "Don't find the dotted line, because if you do now, our record companies may never let us work together ever again." Seeing that, Michelle Branch was on Maverick which is Madonna's label and Jess was about to sign on to another label, so Jessica decided to turn her car around and drove up to LA.
They soon formed a dual together called The Wreckers which is pretty much country base but to add some pop, rock, acoustic styles to it as well as lovely soulful harmonies. They named the album Stand Still Look Pretty because they feel that especially for women in the industry these days, record labels were kind of say, 'okay, you look good, that's it, just keep your mouth shut and don't say anything too smart' and obviously these girls are not going to follow those rules.
Now, the first single after their album is called Leave The Pieces. In the video, Michelle Branch pose up in her car and picks up Jessica who is emotionally hurt from a relationship gone wrong and Jessica does admit that it's not very far from the truth and reality. Michelle tends to be the one that saves Jessica from all the pain and problem she goes through with men.
