That has to move that muscle in it at the same direction and it can lock that muscle memory in there and then you know how exactly far you have to go just like I know this is knocked up. So eventually you’ll get muscle memory for how you just have to move your hand by doing this it is just like learning the notes in the piece. If you do this you learning arm muscle memory and playing the piano isn’t just about using your fingers or your hands or just your wrist it should be all the way up to your shoulder. You should think of your shoulder as one long finger with little stubbly things coming up on them. It’s actually almost 1:00 in the morning right now and I’ve done a whole full day of teaching like yesterday and the one before that. Life is good.
So, basically you go back and forth (Demonstration) and then once you have gotten pass the close-your-eyes stage then open them again and then try it looking somewhere else (Demonstration). So you’ll be like looking out the window or something (Demonstration) and then focus on how you are doing it. Actually doing your arpedios like these things (Demonstration)—those should be done, actually the best way to them when you are doing them quickly is actually with your eyes closed. Because if go too fast you get blurred by going up and down keys so quickly so it is actually best I do them without looking I look up and that is how I practice my arpedios. I try to get the—like of course if I can’t do them you have to stare at them (Demonstration). I do not actually plan doing this, but you figure the distance between the keys over and over and then eventually you slowly look away and correct it. You’re going to mess notes but just use your ear to find that you are hitting the right note and then eventually you’ll just look—you’ll do it one day and then bam! You’ll be able to do it without looking.
It is like in your head you'll see the notes and you’ll see where they take the distance. It’s really hard to explain, but when I do it I see like a white key floating in blackness to another white key, to another white key and it’s like I know exactly where they are going and I am not even looking at it that is just where they are falling. I don’t know it’s really hard to explain.
Okay so that is sort of the whole idea here. It’s like your arm knows the movements and then you’re just going to be sweeping on motions to just drop your hand into it. It’s all about letting your arm feel free and just move in through from key to key. Hopefully that works. I think I might just perform Song of Twilight just for the fun of it because it’s actually a nice piece. Anyway, as you notice I got my second pair of new glasses because I actually got two for one. So these ones are like golden titanium frameless one and they cost pretty penny. I needed it though because my old glasses they snapped off on the handle and then it is scratched. They are basically being held together by medical tape so I decided to get myself some new ones.
Okay, I hope you guys enjoy the rumbling that I did. Things are going good for me. When I was down in Vancouver Mr. Parker was just amazing—you can like sign my book. I did kind of a practical approach and he signed it for me. I don’t know if you can see that but he did. He is awesome. He is really nice. I like the guy. That’s enough of me. Please sign up on my forms and post away. Well, I’ll talk to you guys later!
