Host: Hey Doran Bill here. We are out at Magellan's. Today, we are going to be setting up to do some archery and kind of go through some safety things. Bill, I want you to show us how we go about stringing up some of the bows we have here. Some of the other things too we want to look for when we are stringing up bows because you know obviously whenever you are -- that’s one of the points we might see some failure and someone can actually get hurt.
Doran Bill: Alright, the first thing you want to check are the knocking points from the bow. String roots, make sure that they are not warm or chipped or cracked or anything like that. You want to check the limbs for cracks any delamination on these modern bows that have various types of lamination on different more to fiber glass.
Host: Other composite materials too.
Doran Bill: Other composite materials.
Host: Another thing too is on the sides here is where you can often times tell where you are actually starting to get true delamination from the inner side, you may see some checking and stuff on the front or the backs, but if you can run your finger nail along here and actually pick up a group you know that’s a bully you probably going to want to have to have serviced or even decommission.
Doran Bill: Alright. You also want to check your string for frame check serving make sure that it's in serviceable shape. It also starting to get fashionable. Make sure that the string has gotten up wax on it. And then you are pretty much ready to string it up. You should always use your bow stringer to string up a ball. If not, you can very easily as far as pause limit west which if he gets through a point where it's -- where the first is too bad and it renders the ball and service bow on safety shoot.
Once you have strived up you want to make it sure that the string is in the string grooves or that or posed on the center or pro-limbs by siding down the bow. If you are wondering what these are, these are string silencers. Sometimes a bow will make a lot of noise when you release it with an arrow on it and their side on sure will damp in some of the vibration which will in turn quiet the bow, quiet the release.
Our long bow for or flat bow can be strong with the over magic like this, without fear of damaging the bow. Our bow heavy or poundage bows are sometimes difficult to do that way. So in that case it's better to use a bow stringer. You can also unstring the bow the same way.
