Hello, my name is Chase, and I’m the pet manager at Eagles Zamzows and I’d like to talk to you
today about Guinea Pigs. Guinea Pigs make great first pets for kids 7 years and older, any
younger than that, they would need some adult supervision. They usually live about 5-7 years
and give about 2-3 pounds. There is quite a few varieties of guinea pigs, some of the popular
ones would be the Abyssinian, Peruvian, or American, this one here is a Peruvian, and they come
in tons of different colors. They do make great first pets because they’re so easy to care for; they
require maybe a weekly cleaning, depending on the guinea pig. And that just require, maybe
filling up the food, always keep it full, keeping their water full, they do drink a lot of water, and
minimal attention. They’re commonly found in most pet shops, they rather pretty inexpensive,
they’re very affordable pets. And they can actually be pretty affectionate and recognize you as an
owner, they’ll squeal when they see you or squeal when you feed them. It’s pretty interesting, for
any more information on this guinea pig, just visit www.zamzows.com.
