Learn About International Women's Day

Hi and welcome to watchmojo I am Ashley and today is International Women’s Day. Observed since the 1900’s tradition is that men honor their wife, mother, girlfriend, colleagues etcetera with flowers or small gifts. In some countries, International Women’s Day they have the same status as mother’s day where children give small gifts to their mother or grandmother.

The new millennium has witnessed a significant change and shift in attitude in both women and societies thoughts about women’s equality and liberation. Many from the younger generation feel that all the battles had been winded for women. While many feminists from the 1970’s know only two endurance and complexity of patriarchy.

More women in the border room greater equality in legislative rights. Critical mass of women’s visibility as great role models of every aspect in life. One could think that women have gained true equality. The truth is women have not gained equality of their male counter part. Great improvements have been made however we do have female astronauts and prime ministers.

So to make a difference act and think internationally and globally. Make everyday a women’s day. And do your bit to make sure that future for women are bright safe and rewarding.
