Welcome to watchmojo.com. I am your host Melissa and today we are going to take a look at the religion of Islam, which is founded in the early 7th Century by Muhammad. The Arabic word Islam means submission and more specifically the submission to the will of one God, Allah.
Now, there are over 1 billion Muslims worldwide. And while there are number of denominations, the Shiites and the Sunni Muslims make up the two main branches of Islam. The sacred scripture of Islam is the Quran which contains God’s revelations to Muhammad. Now, compliment to the Quran is the Sunnah, which is spoken and acted examples of the prophet.
Now, the important part of the religion of Islam is the five pillars of Islam and they are charity, fasting, praying five times daily, belief in one God and ,of course, the pilgrimage to Mecca.
So there you have it. A little bit about Islam.
