Monique: I don't know if you've read, they are now talking for deckles for restaurants. Melanie Raposo: No, I haven't. Dani: Oh, I am so upset about this. Monique: To show that they are breastfeeding friendly. This was in 'The Toronto Star' a couple of days ago or something. Dani: In 'The Toronto Star'. Monique: In 'The Toronto Star'. They were talking about how we have deckles in the restaurant like, I don't know, dogs please leave your pets inside. Melanie Raposo: Right, yeah. Monique: Dogs are not welcome here like your owner stay inside and you stay outside. Now they are talking about breastfeeding friendly deckles for restaurants, which true it's a good idea but really you don't need that because we have right to go to restaurants and feed at restaurants, every restaurant. Dani: -- restaurants. Monique: With always out the deckles. Melanie Raposo: And yes, that definitely going to hurt probably a lot of restaurant's business because women are just probably not going to go. Deb: I think it's going to hurt the other way. Monique: Yeah, because we know -- Deb: Because I can go to any restaurant to I want and breastfed my child, I have that right in Ontario. If there was a deckle up saying, this is a breastfeeding friendly restaurant, of course I am going to congratulate them and say, hurray, but for the restaurants that don't have the deckle, if I am in there breastfeeding and I have the right, someone might come up to me and say, excuse me Monique: We don't have the deckle. Dani: We don't have this deckle. Deb: I don't like, you know, I am offended by your breastfeeding, that restaurant over there has a deckle, why don't you go over there? Melanie Raposo: Yeah. Deb: You know and that's the issue that I have because you don't have the right in Ontario to ask a women to cover up, you don't have the right them to leave, it's called discrimination. As we've said about the babies before, it's a baby's right to eat, would you dream of asking an older person, say somebody with a how to stroke, and they are slurping their soup and it's dribbling down and they are padding it, and makes it uncomfortable to watch them eat. Would you dream of asking them to go eat in the bathroom, leave the restaurant, cover up, move to another table so you don't have to watch them, would you dream of that? No. And yet it's okay to ask a baby to do it. Melanie Raposo: So why do you like for having a group like you guys do, what are kind of the steps now, the kind of how prevent thing like this, or Dani: I think one of the most important things is just -- Monique: Well, this is one of them. Dani: Exactly. When it's brought out in public and by the media etcetera, like for example the interview with CTV, the different thing that are going on newspaper articles, it brings it into the public awareness. It makes people aware, there are morons out there and I on our own forum and a couple of other forums that I am involved with who don't know that their rights are. Someone comes up to them and says, you can't do that here, they kind of go, okay, okay, and they get up and they leave. The more we tell people, the public and tell the new moms etcetera, they have the right to do this.
