Welcome to WatchMojo.com. This is Purna and I’m going to be listing you the top five most controversial authors. Now I made this list according to not only how much controversy was around the novels of these authors’ release but also how much controversy surrounded the authors themselves and their lives, how much threats are put on to their lives or how much people hated them and such.

So number 5 on my list is John Steinbeck, he was very interested in politics and his political views can be seen clearly in his books. Now one of his most popular novels is The Grapes of Wrath. You can see his political views in it and he also portrayed the ugly not so commonly spoken about the side of capitalism. He also put in a fictitious reinterpretation of the events that took place during the Dustbowl Migrations which is basically a series of Dust Storms that took place in North America and eventually led to a major drought in the 1930’s. When the population read this book, they were surprised, taking it back and didn’t want to read his books anymore because they were insulted that he had changed around the events of true history of things that had actually occurred.
