Welcome to WatchMojo.com. Today is Yom Kippur. The day of atonement. It is celebrated on the 10th day of Tishrei. Ten days after Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish New Year. It is one of the holiest and most solemn days in Judaism but we also one of the most joyous because it allows people to fix their past problems and start the New Year with a clean slate. Yom Kippur begins at sunset with a 25-hour fast and an intense of prayer. It is also mark the numerous way to allow the Jewish people to focus on wonders spiritual side then the physical side so there is no sexual relation, no wearing of makeup, no bidding and now wearing of leather shoes. Most of the day is spent in prayer and the end of the service is mark by the blowing of the shofar.
