Well in the customer service there will be times when you will encounter patrons that are Long-winded. When you do, here are a few suggestions for you.
Remember, be polite. Wait for a pause and then say, I don’t want to take up too much of your time. What can I do for you? Well, I’m sure you’re busy, so I’ll make this quick.
When you are dealing with a Long-winded customer, avoid open ended questions. Otherwise, they may go on and on and on with their conversation. Instead, ask close ended questions that require a simple yes or no response. For example, “Yes, ma’am we will send someone out to your home right away. Will tomorrow at 10 o’clock be good for you?” “Yes, ma’am I can either replaced your phone or send you your money back. Which do you prefer, your money or a new phone?”
Remember, remember, remember always be polite. As a customer service representative you have a very important job after all, you are the initial contact that a customer has with a company. If they are not please with the type of customer service that they get from you then they may no longer do business with the company and such the company could lose money and at the company loses money, they cannot afford to employ you. So remember always be polite.
Well, my time is up. I thank you for yours. I’ll see you right here next time with another English lesson until then, bye.
