Glissando – Nate Bosch
Hi, I’m Nate Bosch with Pianolessons.com today I’m going to teach you how to play
glissando. Now glissando is just a fancy way of saying playing all the notes coming
down, you’ve heard it? Some of those rockabilly songs, just when they really get going
and they want to get to certain part of the song they just or breakdown all the way up.
There’s a proper way to play it. Coming down this is kind of a hard way to play, you
can’t get—so here’s the key, your thumb might hurt a little bit at first so take your thumb
from the top going down. Now let’s go back up, just use your middle finger with the nail.
Yet you going to try it and it’s going to hurt at first, but the more you try it the easier it
gets.
Then you apply it into a song, here we go. There you could see at the end of the song
there, so that’s it. Go off finish out the song a little bit of a glissando there. So that’s the
key to playing a glissando. Where to put it in a song? You got to feel that as you getting
to, coming into a chorus or something like that or if you really want to dig in there comes
that glissando. So remember on the way down thumb nail and on the way back up the
middle finger, there you have it the glissando.
