It is a free throw test. It does not matter if you are a point guard, or a post player, everybody should qualify to be a certified free throw shooter. The free throw test will give any athlete a true indication of what their free throw percentage will be under game conditions. One test will not determine the exact free throw percentage of your consistency, but doing this test over the course of one week will give you true indication of what your free throw percentage will be in game conditions.
Most athletes just practice free throws or court free throws without incorporating any type of conditioning. By incorporating conditioning, what you are also doing is forcing yourself to shoot one fatigue and to have to focus on the mental mechanics of the free throw itself. It is also a great individual skill to work on, you do not need to take this test more than once a day, but once a week is adequate.

In a free throw test, we can incorporate dribbling for point guards by doing full court sprint dribbles adding a jump shot at the end, going down right handed, coming back left-handed, and then going back to the free throw line to complete another two repetitions of the free throw test. Adding and incorporating dribbling into your free throw test is also a great tool for perimeter and wing players.
