This drill is called the mini free-throw drill. The player will place his feet down the middle of the rim, inside the lower circle below the foul line. The objective is to make 25 short-distance free throws with perfect physical mechanics, combining both physical and mental mechanics together for greater confidence. Notice that Anthony continues to use the words or the mental mechanics as he performs the actual actions or movements of the physical mechanics.
By using the mental mechanics with your physical movements, you will be able to focus more on the free throw itself and not hear outside distractions. You will be less likely to worry about the score, the crowd, the cheerleaders, the opposing players, or any other distractions that might impede your ability to focus on the free throw.
