If you see something that there are no notes over top of each other, and then that means you can play with the pick. Every once in a while, you are going to run into something which I only talk about the third section which is finger picking songs.
This little section of tabs I have there is from the song by Cedar and Evanescence sings it sometimes. It is called Broken and that sounds like this.
[Demonstration]
Something like that. It is really important for the tab, what I really is much you guys would notice is if you look at that tab which it looks really complicated, the one think I want you to notice about is look at the very first set of notes on there is two two’s that are above each other.
Alright, you got the 2 on the D and 2 on the E. So, 2 on the D and 2 on the high E, every fingers there. Now, notice they do not bump each other, so basically that means, you play both at the same time. So, if you think about it unless you play with one of those thumb picks and picks in your fingers, there is no way to do this.
[Demonstration]
To play the D string and high E with the pick at the same time.
[Demonstration]
So, what I recommend is playing songs if you got something like that finger picking. If you do not like finger picking, you can always you know and see what it sounds like might weaving out one of those notes, you know, so you try that.
But that is how to determine finger picking stuff is see if there is a tab, pc and bunch of numbers and there are two numbers at any point over top of each other, they are separated like not in the chord, just only two notes or only three notes that are above each other. That means, you need finger pick that song or look for tab or something.
The last thing I really want to talk about as far as read tab you right now is some techniques. There are a lot of people who sending messages to my understanding. The first technique, before the cover the bend, slide, hammer on, pull off and then of course, it is harmonic. I do not know if you call it technique or not. But the bend, all bend is let us go, say you are going to play the V fret, actually, let us go up high.
Say, you are going to play the IX fret, your B string alright?
[Demonstration]
That is just sounds like. Now, there are two ways to get a note from a bend. One of bend that I should use sample just ninth,
[Demonstration]
And you play,
[Demonstration]
So,
[Demonstration]
Okay, there no way you can play that tenth, you can play the ninth
[Demonstration]
And then up to it, so I am going to take it up and comes down.
[Demonstration]
So,
[Demonstration]
Sure the same note. So, all of bend is let us try to get a better angle. All the bend is I am playing this, and while I am pressing down,
[Demonstration]
You move the string up,
[Demonstration]
And if I put a bend on that low E string.
[Demonstration]
I bend down.
[Demonstration]
So, if you guys can see that.
[Demonstration]
And that is kind of how you get that vibrato too like you know, where you just bend the string up and down really quickly.
[Demonstration]
Alright, that is a bend. Slide is really simple. Sometimes, you will see a slide with a slash. If you see something that says like one. Say if you go to B string, say one has a one that slash on a three, all that means you play the one.
[Demonstration]
And slide your finger up to the III fret, let it ring at like I pick one time,
[Demonstration]
That what is the Slide means.
The hammer on, you will see that in the finger picking section three. All hammer on means is basically, gets its name because you are hammering your finger on to the next fret up. So, say you are playing your pointer finger II fret and you are missed the hammer on,
[Demonstration]
So, you hear those two notes?
[Demonstration]
Better know what playing, I am picking once.
[Demonstration]
You need a delay.
[Demonstration]
Alright, oh and do not forget is played it and then slam your finger down. It takes a little while to get the hammer on that,
[Demonstration]
You know how the callus in your fingers are really so
